SMASHING 3 of the BIGGEST Falsities about Bisexuality
1) Bisexuality is Binary (only allowing for attraction to men and women) = False
The Bisexual community has always embraced trans and other gendered people. Many transexuals and other gendered persons also identify as bisexual. Bisexuals are attracted to more than one gender. That can be cisgender, transexuals, intersexuals, or other gender fluid identified persons.
2) Bisexuals are “equally” attracted to men and women = False
Many bisexuals find themselves romantically attracted to one gender more than another gender. We may be emotionally attracted to one gender and only sexually attracted to another gender. Some bisexuals ARE equally attracted to more than one gender, while others find themselves leaning more in one direction or another.
3) Bisexuals must be with men and women simultaneously = False
Most bisexuals are also monogamous. Some bisexuals are polyamorous. In either case, bisexuals often make commitments of exclusivity to partners, whether one partner, or more than one.
BONUS FACT: There is nothing that can possibly happen while in relationship with a bisexual person that cannot also happen while in relationship with a heterosexual or homosexual person.
