I am so ANGRY about Transgender Day of Remembrance. I’m angry that the most well known trans holiday is about our sisters being murdered. I’m angry that 99% of our murdered are women, majority women of color. I’m angry that every year our list of names doesn’t get shorter. I’m angry that our deaths are frequently UN-investigated and unsolved. I’m angry that there are children on our list EVERY year. I’m angry that more people are concerned about gay marriage than trans women being murdered. I’m angry that this holiday even has to exist.
